Learn about open government, Sunshine laws, at seminar

The New Jersey Foundation for Open Government (NJFOG) is hosting a free educational seminar during National Sunshine Week (March 13-19), when the dialogue will be all about open government and “your right to know.”

The seminar will be held on Tuesday, March 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Belleville High School.

Panelists will discuss New Jersey’s Open Public Records Act (OPRA) and Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) and how you can exercise your rights under these laws to be better informed about the operations of state and local government.

Handouts will be provided.

The seminar is free, but attendees are asked to register at NJFOG’s website so that adequate materials can be made available.
