Agnes McAlister
Agnes McAlister (Mullins), 94, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, in the West Hudson Post Acute Care Center, Kearny.

Agnes was born in Elbert, W. Va., and has lived in Kearny most of her life.
Agnes was the mother of Mrs. Patricia Scanlon and Mrs. Kathleen Feehan. She was the sister of William Mullins and Cecilia Romanski. Mrs. McAlister is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Matthew and her son Brian.
Thomas McCartin
Thomas Smith Patrick McCartin, died on Wednesday, April 6, in Coral Springs, Fla., at 73 years of age.
He was retired from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, where he was a sergeant in the Department of Detention and he had served in the United States Air Force.
Born and raised in Kearny to Edward and Catherine McCartin (nee Boyle), he lived in Florida for 32 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Rosa Adelia; his devoted daughter, Kathleen McCartin Hanks (David); three grandsons Aidan Thomas, Michael Patrick and Colin David; two brothers Edward (Phyllis) and Robert (Betty) and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Known to his grandfather, Mr. John Charles Boyle, as his “blue eyed boy”, he was preceded in death by his loving mother and his uncles and aunts of the Boyle family.
Visitation and memorial service were held on April 9 in Coral Springs, Fla. A Mass will be held at St. Cecelia’s Church, in Kearny, on Saturday, June 4, at 11 a.m.
James Howard Wilson
Former New Jersey resident James H. Wilson, 80, died on May 13 with his family by his bedside in Community Hospital in New Port Richey, Fla., where he resided for the past 24 years.
Mr. Wilson was born on October 18, 1930 in Jersey City.
Mr. Wilson served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and had worked for Delta Airlines for 31 years. He was a resident of Kearny for over 27 years.
Although stricken with multiple sclerosis at an early age, he did not let it affect his sense of humor and good nature.
Mr. Wilson was predeceased by his parents Robert and Blanche (Mathews) Wilson and his first wife of 27 years Rita A. (Hughes) Wilson.
He is survived by his wife Doris (Moschella) Wilson; children Lynn (Wilson) LoPorto and husband Robert, James Wilson and wife Maureen, stepchildren Diane (Moschella) Wagner and husband James, Mark Moschella and wife Mary Kay; grandchildren Erin and Sean Wilson, Carmen Lo Porto and Amanda Fitzpatrick, Jennifer Wagner and Justin Wagner and his wife Patricia and great-grandson Evan; brothers Robert Wilson and Beverly, Jack Wilson and Eileen; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Lois Hughes, Lillian Hughes, Joyce and Raymond Herschell, Eleanor and Norman Erb and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by Wilfred Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, Kearny. He was laid to rest alongside Rita at Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington on May 20.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Phyllis A. Hawks
Phyllis A. Hawks (nee Jones) died on May 15 in The Select Specialty Hospital in Rochelle Park. She was 79.
Born in Newark, she lived in Kearny before moving to North Arlington 36 years ago. Mrs. Hawks was a retired vice president from Valley National Bank. She was on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and was a member of the North Arlington Woman’s Club and the Evening Membership Department Woman’s Club in Kearny.
Wife of the late John W. Hawks Sr., she is survived by her children Patricia Ann Formisano and John W. Hawks Jr., her sisters Audrey Brady and Mildred Grimes and her grandchildren John, Kimberlee, Michael and Nicholas.
Arrangements were by the Wilfred Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. A funeral Mass was held in Queen of Peace Church. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to the Salvation Army.
Adrian W. Lawless
Mr. Adrian W. Lawless, 92, of North Arlington and a former Harrison resident, died on Thursday, May 12, in Belleville.
The funeral Mass was celebrated in Holy Cross Church, Harrison on Monday, May 16. Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Adrian was a Navy veteran of WWII serving as an aviation radioman. He retired as a lieutenant from the Harrison Police Department in 1972, where he was the supervisor of traffic and fire signals. He also worked as an assistant at many funeral homes in Essex, West Hudson and South Bergen area for over 30 years. He was also a member of the North Arlington Elks #1992.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Catherine (nee Bock) and his daughter Elaine Lubowiecki; also surviving are his grandson and wife Vincent A. and Adriana Lubowiecki and his cherished great-grandson Vincent A. Mr. Lawless was predeceased by his son-in-law Vincent J. Lubowiecki.

Harold ‘Troy’ August
Born to live, born to ride.
Harold “Troy” August, 46, of Harrison, entered into eternal rest on May 17, surrounded by his loving family.
The funeral service was held at the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave, Harrison, on May 21. Interment followed at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny.
Born in Dallas, he lived most of his life in Harrison.
Harold worked as an electronic assembler for ITT, Clifton. Prior to that, he worked for GEC Marconi Hazeltine Corp., Wayne, for many years. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Harold is survived by his wife beloved Elizabeth (nee Knowlton); his children Melissa, Troy, Samantha, Alisa and Michael; his grandson Brandon; his loving parents Shirley (nee Wood) and Michael P. August and his brother Michael Joseph. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joseph L. Wiener
Joseph L. Wiener, 74, of Kearny, formerly of Newark, passed away on Saturday, May 14.

Predeceased by his mother, Lillian Barletto (nee White), Joe is survived by his sons Michael, James, Stephen and his ex-wife Barbara (nee Stagg).
He was born in Newark and lived there until moving to Kearny in 1966.
Joe worked at J.S. Kislak Realty Co. in Newark for 10 years, retiring in 1981 and prior to that, at the Lincoln Motel, Newark. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice, in memory of Joe.
Julia L. Molino
Julia L. Molino, 92, of Holiday City Carefree, Berkeley Twp., and formerly of North Arlington, died Tuesday, May 17.
Mrs. Molino was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, Toms River, and a member of the senior citizens and Italian American clubs of North Arlington. She liked to travel, was involved in teaching line dancing and she sang in senior choral groups and the church choir.
She was predeceased by her husband James in 1966. Surviving are her daughters Rose Reid and her husband Bill of Grand Rapids, Mich., Connie Molino of Toms River, Julieann Booth and her husband Bob of Mrytle Beach, S.C., six grandchildren Bob, Dave and Steve Kreminski and their spouses Bill Reid and Laura Reid Bradeen and their spouses and Robert Darcy Booth, six great-grandchildren and her sister Grace Ricany.

Angela M. Reid, 54, funeral director assistant
Angela M. (nee Solari) Reid, of Kearny and Bonita Springs, Fla., entered into eternal rest on Wednesday May 11, peacefully at home with her loving family and friends at her side. She had fought cancer for several years and always “stayed strong”.
Angela assisted her late husband, Robert T. Reid, at the Edward T. Reid Home for Funerals, Kearny, for 15 years until Bob’s death in 2007. She provided care and compassion to many families during their time of need.
Born in Los Andes, Chile, Angela was very proud when she received her United States naturalization. She had lived in Harrison for 16 years before moving to Kearny in 1991. Angela enjoyed the ocean, sun, flowers, and animals, especially her beloved Chihuahua Chiquita. Most of Angela’s enjoyment was of the times she and Bob spent in Florida.
Angela was also predeceased by her loving mother, Grace (nee Reveco) Solari. Angela is survived by her beloved son Christopher Reyes, devoted father Angelo Solari, cherished granddaughter Noelle-Reyes-Terrazzino; she is also survived by her devoted uncle and aunt Ivan and Gabriela Reveco and her cousin Paola Reveco. Angela has several loving family members in the Solari and Reveco families in Chile and Sweden.
Many relatives and friends attended the visitation and funeral at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, on Saturday, May 14, followed by the funeral liturgy that was offered in St. Cecilia’s Church, 120 Kearny Ave., Kearny. Cremation was private.

Richard E. Warden
Richard “Dick” E. Warden, of East Newark, passed away on May 19.
He was predeceased by his wife Joan.
Born in Kearny, he lived most of his life in East Newark.
He was employed at TWA Airlines, retiring after 37 years. Dick was in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
He is survived by his children Richie (Michele), Dona Holzschuh (Bob) and Karen Wood (David); four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of Lombardi Funeral Home, Harrison.
Anna Puszkarczuk
Anna Puszkarczuk, of Coatsville, Pa., passed away on May 22.
A funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 115 South Third St., Harrison. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Arrangements are under the direction of Lombardi Funeral Home, Harrison.
Born in Poland, Anna lived most of her life in Kearny. She was a factory worker for Hudson Lamp Company, Kearny.
She is survived by her son, Roman; daughter Anna Marie Oxenham; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
