KEARNY –
Kearny police reported the arrest last week of a Rhode Island registered sex offender who had been staying illegally in this town.
According to Police Chief John Dowie, the KPD had received an anonymous tip that the 60-year-old man was living with a friend at a home on Ivy St. Det. Mike Gonzalez confirmed the offender’s identity and status with Rhode Island authorities, who reported that the man was on probation should not have left that state.
