NUTLEY –
A suspect in the burglary last week of a local convenience store was arrested four days later after police tracked him through stolen lottery tickets he cashed in Irvington.
Police said they found the culprit – who may be connected to other area burglaries – walking along Washington Ave. in Belleville, drinking a bottle of beer, at 10:30 a.m. last Friday morning.
Of 250 stolen $2 and $3 scratch-off tickets, he had cashed in just 15 winners, for a grand-total of $45 in winnings, police said.
