News from the Nutley PD

Maybe it was the heat.
Nutley police recorded several incidents of criminal mischief in town in recent days. Perhaps the temperatures were affecting behavior. Or maybe some folks are just inclined to destruction.
There was also a reported attempt to cash a phony check at a local bank. By someone who fled, but left his ID behind.
Maybe it was the heat.
These are among the reports from the Nutley PD blotter for the week ending July 28.

July 22
10:15 a.m. A resident reported that someone had withdrawn $400 from his account at a Franklin Ave, bank. The bank closed the account and refunded the money. Police are investigating with the assistance of the bank’s fraud department.
4:33 p.m. A Park Ave. resident reported that, upon returning home, they found a window screen ripped and the window partially open. Police checked the home, but the resident said that apparently nothing  had been removed. Detectives are actively investigating.
