Kearny Little League will have its annual Fun Fair at the Doyle Pavilion at Riverbank Park on Aug. 21, from noon to 6 p.m. The event includes a water slide, dunk tank, music, raffles and more, and is open to Little League participants, coaches, parents and siblings. The Kearny Public Library Children’s Room announces free events for children in August: Play/Story Times for preschool age children will continue at the Main Library, 318 Kearny Ave., on Tuesdays through Aug. 23 from 11 a.m.- noon, and also on Thursdays through Aug. 25 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Branch library, 759 Kearny Ave., hosts Play/Story Times for preschool age children through Aug. 18 on Thursday mornings from 10:15 – 11 a.m. The Branch Library is located at 759 Kearny Ave.
Art classes will be held at the Main library from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Aug. 17 and 24. The library will provide the art materials. Children will create art to take home, and also art to decorate the library’s Children’s Room.
The following films are scheduled for Movie Mondays at the Main library: On August 22 at 2 p.m.: “Legends of the Guardians: the Owls of Ga’hoole” and on Aug. 29 at 4 p.m.: “Phantom Tollbooth”.

Nutley Public Library announces its next cycle of ESL classes is scheduled to begin during the week of Aug. 22 and run through Dec. 29. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels are available, as is instruction for the citizenship test.
