KEARNY –
A bizarre midafternoon robbery attempt was reported last week at a warehouse on the 160 tract of Passaic Ave.
According to Kearny police, two black males “burst into” the office of the warehouse proprietor at about 4:30 p.m. Sept. 6.
While one stood lookout, the other — wearing a black hood and with four white bandages covering his face — knocked the proprietor out of his chair, punched him and then patted down his pockets.
The bandit then rummaged through the victim’s desk, but fled without taking anything. Both men were last seen running along Passaic.
An investigation, headed by Det. John Telle, is continuing, and police have been checking security-camera videotapes from the area.
