The Borough of North Arlington will be going out to bid for contracts to resurface several streets as part of its ongoing road improvement program, officials announced Friday.
The borough will be issuing bonds for $350,000 for the projects, but a portion of the cost will be offset by a $243,000 Community Development Block Grant available through Bergen County government, officials said.
The project will entail resurfacing Fifth St. from Wilson Place to Jauncey Ave.; Brandenburg Place from Fifth to Sixth St.; Union Place from the Belleville Turnpike to the dead end; Park Ave. from Rutherford Place to Chestnut St., and Gold St. from Front St. to Albert St.
Borough spokesman Thomas Ammirato said the project is dependent on the weather. Plans are to start this winter, but snow could delay the launch until spring.
