The Belleville ASA (Amateur Softball Association) announced today that they will be conducting classes during the month of March to prepare for the National ASA Softball Test. Classes will meet every Wednesday at 7 p.m., beginning March 7. The class will meet at the Belleville Recreation Department, 407 Joralemon St., Belleville. The test will be given on April 4. Passing the test and joining a local ASA association are all that is necessary to begin umpiring both fast and slow-pitch ASA games. The cost for the class and taking the test is $50. Nurses will provide individual health counseling to each person. It’s recommended that attendees refrain from eating for two hours prior to the cholesterol screenings for best results, but its not absolutely necessary.
