Chester Anthony Chinsky
Chester (“Chet”) Anthony Chinsky, age 89, died in Ponte Verde Beach, Fla., on June 11 after a brief illness.
Mr. Chinsky was born in 1923 in Dickson City, Pa., to Anthony and Tillie (Yarosh) Ciensczyk. He graduated from Dickson City High School and served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was married for 50 years to Leona (Gombka) who predeceased him.
Mr. Chinsky, a successful businessman, lived for most of his life in Harrison. He was a lifelong entrepreneur, and over the course of his career owned a variety of businesses, including a delicatessen, apartment building, cocktail lounge and trucking company. He retired in 1985 at which time he and his wife bought a Winnebago and traveled throughout the United States.
Mr. Chinsky was an active member of St. Casmir’s Polish National Catholic Church, where he devoted much time to that parish’s endeavors. Over the years, he shared his energy and expertise with multiple committees. He was a member of the Young Men’s Society of the Resurrection and served as the parish’s treasurer for many years. He enjoyed bowling in the church league and participating in their tournaments.
Mr. Chinsky belonged to the Masons, the Elks and the American Legion. Chet was a crossword puzzle enthusiast and an avid fan of the Oakland Athletics. He was bilingual, being fluent in Polish.
Chet was a man who respected the value of education and one of his greatest sources of pride was that he sent all three of his children to college. He will be remembered as a man of great strengths: his solid family values; the care he gave to his wife throughout her lingering illness; and his generosity to his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Chinsky is survived by his daughters Christine Smith (Richard) and Barbara Reilly (Bill); his son Chester S. Chinsky (Deborah Mullens); his grandchildren Abigail Smith, Bryan Smith, Will Reilly (Liz Paulk), Alexandra Altman (James), and Samantha Chinsky; and his two sisters, Florence Peters and Frances Novak. At the time of his death, Chet was residing with his daughter, Barbara, in Ponte Verde Beach, Fla.
Mr. Chinsky was predeceased by his wife, Lee; his granddaughter, Margaret Reilly; and his brother, Frank Ciensczyk.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
Harry Fitzsimmons
Harry Fitzsimmons, 75, a longtime resident of Harrison and Kearny, passed away on Sunday, June 10.
Harry and his wife of 37 years, Marion (nee Fulda) retired and relocated to Delray Beach, Fla. in 1996.
Harry is survived by his wife, Marion and five biological children Susan Niedzinksi (Paul), Doug, Jim (Judi), Stephen (Lisa) and Kelly Segrave (Rich); two step-children Michael Pace (Sara), and Michelle Pace; his brothers Thomas and Bill (Rosemary); 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Harry was a longtime member of the Harrison Elks Club, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Harry will be missed by all who knew him – RIP Harry.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, at the Harrison Elks Club, from 6 to 9 p.m. You are welcome to come and share your memories of him.
Joseph N. Fuino
Joseph N. Fuino, 86, made his transition into heaven on June 15. Waiting for him with open arms were his wife Gilda, parents, brothers, sisters, friends and family who have gone before him.

Joe was born in Harrison, where he lived most of his life; the last few years, he resided at the VA Home of Paramus, where he was well taken care of. Joe served in the U.S. Army as Private First Class from 1943- 1946; Joe, fondly known as “Joe the Mailman,” was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Harrison for 35 years, before retiring in 1983; he was very active in St. Anthony’s Church and the community. Joe’s greatest joy was his family; he was an incredible husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was truly a family man.
Joe was predeceased by his wife Gilda; parents, and several brothers and sisters. Joe is survived by his son Joseph and his wife, Debbie; daughter Michele Wojciechowski and her husband Ray; his grandchildren, Christopher, Alisha, and Alison; also his brothers Fr. Crispin and Patrick.

Richard L. Henry Jr.
Richard L. Henry Jr. “Rick” died on June 15 in Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville. He was 53. Born in Fort Benning, Ga., he lived in Harrison before moving to Kearny 25 years ago.
Arrangements were by the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr., Kearny. A funeral Mass will be held in St. Stephens Church, Kearny, followed by private cremation.
Rick owned and operated Ultra Air in Belleville. He was a member of the Harrison/East Newark Elks, past president and coach of the Kearny Generals Football Team, coached Kearny recreation soccer and baseball and he was an avid golfer and fisherman.
Husband of 25 years to Donna (nee Viscuso), son of Valentine Hughes and the late Richard L. Henry Sr. He is also survived by his children Kristen and Richard, sisters Debbie (Bob) Confessore, Donna (Robert) Docherty and Elizabeth Henry his in-laws Zibby and Mildred Viscuso and 13 nieces and nephews.

Calixto Manzano
Calixto Manzano died on June 15 in the Hackensack Hospice. He was 75. Born in Cuba, he lived in Newark before moving to Lyndhurst two years ago.

Milos Suvajac
Milos Suvajac died suddenly on June 16 at home. He was 67. Born in the former Yugosilvia, he lived in Passaic before moving to Kearny 42 years ago.

Milos is a retired truck driver from LJM LaPlace in Elmwood Park and is a member of Teamsters Local 560.
He is survived by his wife Irene (nee Przebieglec) and his children Michele Gizzi (John), Michael Suvajac, and John Suvajac (Adria) and his grandchildren Nicholas and Madison.

Richard Weber
Richard Weber, of Kearny and Point Pleasant Borough, died on June 15 in University Hospital in Newark. He was 60.

Rich owned and operated Weber Auto Body in Kearny and North Arlington and Weber Marine in Bricktown. He was past president of the Lyons Club and was an elected member of the Kearny Board of Education for 12 years and also sat on the Board of The Auto Body Association and The Arlington Players Club.
He is survived by his wife Debbie (nee Fiduccia), his children and their spouses Amy and Noel Heberling and Matthew and Amy Weber. Brother of David and the late Leonard Weber, he is also survived by his mother-in -law Henrietta Mawhinney and his grandchildren Maeve and Jake.
