Registration is now open for fall theatre workshop programs for Nutley youngsters in grades 3 to 12 to participate in various methods of acting and build on their current areas of talent. It also allows the beginner student the opportunity to learn stage direction, song, dance and auditioning techniques for future auditions.
The Theatre Workshop Program will consist of two sessions and will offer direction from the very beginning performer level to the more advanced levels. Classes will be held on Tuesdays at the Recreation Department, 44 Park Ave. Pre-registration is required for this class. Sessions will begin on Oct. 9 and will continue for six weeks. Sessions will be as follows:
4-5th grade – 4:45 p.m. – Students will be shown the beginning steps of acting, play acting games and learning how people in their favorite movies and television shows do it. They will learn confidence and how to hold their own for the first time on stage.
6-7th grade – 5:45 p.m. – At this level students will begin to experience the craft of acting in a different way through specific parts. Besides the traditional acting games and exercises, students will begin to explore a variety of different roles as well as beginning prep for auditions.
