Bo Field
Bo Field, 84, of Kearny, died on Oct. 13.
Born in Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. Field moved to New Jersey 65 years ago living most of her life in Kearny. She was a waitress at the Arlington Diner when it first opened for 15 years. She then worked at the Lyndhurst Diner for 25 years, retiring 15 years ago. She was known as “The Mets Lady.” She was a diehard Mets fan who was well known at Shea Stadium. She was a season ticket holder who sat behind home plate and was televised many times. She attended many home games and because of her many “cameos” she was asked for her autograph by many people.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Field and step-mother of Carolynn Forcieone and Deborah (Ralph) Rogler. She is also survived by her dear friends Walter and Sandy Smagula and their children.
Services will be private and under the direction of Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, Kearny. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in her memory would be appreciated.
John Stephen Manley
John Stephen Manley, 92, of Stroudsburg, Pa., entered into eternal rest on Oct. 8, at the VNA Hospice Facility, Stroudsburg.

Born in East Newark, on April 29, 1920 he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary Finnerty Manley. He lived in the East Newark, Harrison and Kearny before moving to Stroudsburg, Pa. in 1999.
John served in the U.S. Army 77th Infantry Division in World War II. He participated in Guam-Leyte, Philippines-Okinawa and was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service at Leyte.
He was employed by the National Union Electric Research Lab in Orange, as a divisional accountant. He also was employed by General Electric Co., Paterson, as supervisor of General Tax Accounting and was later transferred to General Electric in New York City as a specialist of federal and foreign taxes.
John played soccer with Junior and Amateur Teams in New Jersey and with Kearny Irish American Professional Soccer Club. He was an avid golfer and a member of Water Gap Country Club. He was also a member of the club’s Over The Hill Gang and served as its treasurer and president.
He is survived by many cousins and extended family as well as special friends and caregivers: Dr. Linda Brown, Sandy McFadden and Richelle Martin.
