Belleville Senior Health Services, 518 Washington Ave., is committed to improving the quality of life for all participants of our program. All participants are on fixed-income and frequently have few, if any, resources. Additionally, all have significant health and/ or psychological issues.
Belleville Senior Health Services provides medical care, well-balanced meals and a focus on overall wellbeing. Opportunities for friendship are provided with group activities, music movies and special parties, as well as field trips and educational classes with guess speakers.

The Presbyterian Boys- Girls Club, 663 Kearny Ave., will hold its annual carnival on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. Over 100 boys and girls will participate in operating over 30 games of skill. Some of the popular games are goldfish toss, spin the wheel, feed the clown, go fish and many more. There will also be a giant table of arts and crafts, homemade toys and baked goods.
The club encourages the entire community to attend. The carnival is under the direction of Thomas Fraser, executive director of the PBGC and Lincoln School guidance counselor and Paul Vieira, chairman of the board, and additional board members.

The next meeting of the Lyndhurst Public Library book club will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. “The Christmas Train” by David Baldacci will be discussed. The next First-Sundayof- the-Month Nature Walk with the NJMC and the Bergen County Audubon Society will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m. This free two-hour program features a walk along legendary Disposal Road in Lyndhurst and North Arlington, followed by a short talk and slide show on the raptors of the Meadowlands by the NJMC’s Jim Wright. Participants will meet along Disposal Road across from the Carillon, and then drive a half-mile to the Meadowlands Environment Center in DeKorte Park. Please note that the rest of De- Korte Park remains closed during this event, and we ask that you do not attempt to walk the park grounds or trails during your visit. A Touch of Nature will be held at the Medowlands Environment Center on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 2 to 3 p.m. Participants are encouraged to touch and pet a variety of animals, including birds, lizards, tarantulas, alligators and snakes! The Lyndhurst Elks # 1505 will sponsoring the annual Hoop Shoot Competition on Saturday, Dec. 1, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Rec Center on Valleybrook Ave. All students ages 8-14 are welcome to compete. Winners move on to district levels. Contestants must have birth certificate with them.
