Two Kearny teenagers spent Thanksgiving eve in the Hudson County Jail after robbing a Harrison grocery store, police reported. The alleged bandits’ haul? Some cigarettes.
One of the suspects fled on foot from the Harrison Ave. shop but was tackled and arrested by Harrison cops at William and Fifth Sts., police said. He was identified as Christopher Henry, 18.
The other, identified as Tomasz Hoedt, also 18, reportedly fled by car and was nabbed in Kearny after Harrison PD issued a BOLO and KPD Officer Richard Pawlowski spotted and stopped the vehicle minutes later, at 7:30 p.m., at Belgrove Drive and Midland Ave.
Hoedt was turned over to the custody of the Harrison PD, which charged him with DWI and conspiracy to commit robbery. Henry was charged with robbery and underage drinking.
Both were remanded to the jail on $50,000 bail. It is not known if they were served turkey.

At 10 p.m., Nov. 21, Vice Squad detectives conducting ongoing surveillance reportedly witnessed a cash-formarijuana exchange between a pedestrian and a motorist on Beech St.
The driver/alleged dealer, Noel Lorenzo, 27, of Bloomfield, was found to have $100 in one pocket and slightly more than $1,000 in another, police said. The car reportedly contained a digital scale and plastic bags used for packaging pot.
Lorenzo was charged with manufacture and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute in a school zone, and operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a CDS.
His alleged customer, identified as John Arboleda, 23, of Kearny, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
On Nov. 23, Kearny cops responded to two separate rear-ender crashes within 45 minutes of each other on Kearny Ave.
The first occurred at 9 p.m. at Midland Ave., where Officers Pete Jahera and John Fabula reportedly found one of the drivers slumped over the front seat.
Police said she had slurred speech and, when removed from the car, had to stand against a wall for support. She reportedly failed the field sobriety tests and refused to take an Alco test at headquarters. After being charged with DWI and reckless driving, the woman, identified as Rosina Mould, 57, of Kearny, was taken by ambulance to Clara Maass Hospital for observation and treatment.
At 9:45 the same night, another rear-end crash occurred at Kearny Ave. and Afton St. When responding officer Ben Wuelfing asked for ID from the driver who appeared to be at fault, said driver reportedly handed the cop a lottery ticket instead.
Advised that this did not qualify as a driving credential, the motorist, Paul Doran, 44, of Kearny, began fumbling through his wallet and appeared to be “very confused,” police said.
Doran was charged with DWI, DWI in a school zone and careless driving.
