Students from Art of Dance entertained the retired sisters who reside at Felician Infirmary in Lodi on Nov. 11. The girls demonstrated dance routines in the form of classical ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop from their 2012 May recital. The students, ages 7 to 18, simply enjoy dancing and love to perform. At the request of coordinator from the Felician Infirmary, Nancy Barton, Art of Dance put together a wonderful event for the sisters. Art of Dance, a non-competitive dance school, encourages students to exhibit what they love the most…dancing. Performing at community events is a wonderful way for the students to do just that.
The Art of Dance also performed at the Rutherford Downtown Partnership Christmas parade. Dancing outdoors , in the center of Park Ave., was a wonderful experience for the group. Dancing to “Run,Run. Rudolph”, the girls entertained the parade bystanders with their routine. Choreographed by Allison Lindorff, the senior and junior girls’ hip hop teacher, their performance made them feel like the Rockettes in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!
