Bloomfield Public Library announces the following schedule for its Thursday Afternoon at the Movies program: Feb. 7 – “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” (PG- 13) (Judi Dench), Feb. 14 – “Crazy Stupid Love” (PG-13) (Steve Carrell); Feb. 21 – “Joyful Noise” (R) (Kris Kristofferson) and Feb. 28 – “Men of Honor” (PG-13) (Cuba Gooding Jr.).
The library’s schedule for its Monday Afternoon at the Movies program is as follows: Feb. 11 – “Safe House” (R) (Denzel Washington), Feb. 18 – “The Gorgeous Hussy” (NR) (Joan Crawford) and Feb. 25 – “Red Tails” (PG-13) (Cuba Gooding Jr.).
Films for both programs start at 12:15 p.m. in the library theater. Admission is free.
Kearny
St Stephen’s Church Holy Name Society and Men of St. Joseph will sponsor its annual fish and chip dinner on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the church’s Hedges Hall. Please access the hall from the Washington Ave. entrance. The dinner will be prepared by the Argyle Restaurant.
Tickets: Adults $14 and $7 for children under 12. Dine in or take out will be available.
Tickets can be purchased at the church after all Masses. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
A flea market will be held at St. Cecilia’s Church, 114 Chestnut St., Kearny, on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Furniture, small appliances, household items, toys, DVDs, and more. As of Feb. 1, any owners with unlicensed cats or dogs will receive a $10 late fee upon licensure and possible summons issued by the Bergen County Health Inspector. The Lyndhurst Health Department will resumed its free meditation course beginning Wednesday, Jan.30, at 6:30 p.m. This class is lead by Parbatie Singh, a Lyndhurst resident and certified oneness trainer, who received certification from the Oneness University in India. The Meadowlands Environment Center , 2 DeKorte Park Plaza, Lyndhurst, will host “Animals and their Environment” on Sunday, Feb. 10, from 1 to 2 p.m. for all ages. Join Bergen County Zoological Park naturalist Carol Fusco as she introduces a variety of animals, including bunnies and hedgehogs, and learn how they make their way in the world. North Arlington
North Arlington Public Library announces the following upcoming programs and events: On Wednesdays, Feb. 6, 13 and 27, at 11:45 a.m., there is storytime for children ages 2-5. There will be no storytime on Feb. 20.
On Friday, Feb. 8, there is a YA Movie Day at 3pm for kids in Grades 6 and up.
The library will begin a new session of basic computer and fundamental skills for adults on Mondays, from 6 to 7 p.m., Feb. 25 to March 25. There is a maximum of eight spots available and registration for this class began on Feb. 4 on a first-come, first-served basis. You must be a North Arlington resident to participate.

Bring in your overdue library materials and a donation of nonperishable food to the Nutley Public Library during Random Acts of Kindness Week, Feb. 11 to 17, and the library will waive up to $5 in fines from your library card. Older fines of up to $5 will also be waived with a nonperishable food donation. Fines will be waived for Nutley materials only. This donated food will be given to the Food Pantry of the Red Cross of Nutley.

Commissioner Steven Rogers announced that a Women’s Health Clinic will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6. The clinic is free to women 60+; for other women the fee is $20.
