Eric Angus, 20, of Lyndhurst, was charged with underage consumption of alcohol after police said they saw him standing outside his vehicle, parked in the 500 block of Summer Ave., at 1:42 a.m., after he had allegedly discarded a can of beer on the sidewalk. He was also ticketed for littering and released pending court action.
Feb. 6
At 7:23 a.m. police responded to the 300 block of Lyndhurst Ave. where they found a 2010 Honda up on blocks with its four tires and rims missing. Police said the owner told them the tires were worth $150 each and the rims, $500 apiece.
Jan. 31
At 5:31 a.m. police responded to the 400 block of Thomas Ave. where a chimney atop 418 Thomas Ave. had toppled over onto and through the roof of 416 Thomas as the result of severe storm winds. Police said no one was hurt. The Lyndhurst Volunteer Fire Department and Town Building Department responded, police said.
Jan. 30
At 5:07 p.m. the occupant of an apartment in the 800 block of Riverside Ave. called police to report a burglary. Police said the occupant told them that jewelry and $200 in cash were missing. Police said the intruder apparently got in through the garage. The incident remains under investigation.
At 1:07 p.m. police were called to Extra Space storage lot at Kingsland Ave. and First St. on a report of burglary to a motor vehicle. Police said that $500 worth of rims, batteries and automotive scrap materials were listed as missing from a pickup truck parked in the lot.
Jan. 29
Police arrested Nicholas Boyarko, 19, of Lyndhurst, on drug related charges in the ShopRite Plaza parking lot on New York Ave. at 8:49 p.m. Police said that when they approached the suspect’s vehicle, Boyarko started to walk away but was detained after police said they found suspected marijuana and a grinder in the car. He was released after being issued two summonses, police said.

The owner of a 1999 Honda Civic told police someone stole their vehicle while it was parked in the 400 block of Kingsland Ave. The victim said their wallet, containing driver’s license and credit cards, were inside the vehicle. The incident was reported at 12:30 p.m., police said.
