Maria S. Alfaro
Maria S. Alfaro, 87, passed away peacefully at home in Harrison surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 4.
Born in Granada, Nicaragua she came to the United States in 1986 and lived in Harrison.
Maria is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Manuel Alfaro, Sr., her loving children Manuel Alfaro, Jr., Maria Alfaro, Alba Eraso and Sandra Alfaro, and cherished grandchildren Irwin Miranda, Robert Eraso, and Cindy and Sodelba Alfaro.
The funeral was conducted by the Mulligan Funeral Home, Harrison. A funeral service was held in the funeral home on Sunday, April 7. Sally Berg
Sally Berg (nee Corbett) died on April 6 at the Madison Center in Matawan. She was 89.
She lived many years in Kearny before moving to Pennsylvania where she managed the Indian Mountain Lake Motel in Kresgeville, Pa.
She retired to Bloomfield and moved to Matawan three years ago.

Sally, was a member of the Park United Methodist Church, where she was always a ready volunteer.
Wife of the late Walter, she is survived by her children and their spouses Walter Berg, Jr. and Lillian Cowan Hague “Cookie” and her husband Bob, Marjorie Breuer and her husband Bill . She was predeceased by her son Gregory “Chip” Berg. Also surviving are her seven grand and 10 great-grandchildren.

Gladimir Dossantos died on March 31 in St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark. He was 54.
Born in Brazil, he lived in Florida.

John Hopton
John Hopton died on April 1at the home of his daughter Cheryl. He was 91.
Born in Leslie, Scotland he lived in Carbondale, Pa., before moving to Kearny 68 years ago.

Mr. Hopton was stationary engineer at Essex County Community College for many years. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 68.
Husband of the late Elaine (nee Minor), he is survived by his daughters Cheryl Todd, Holly LaBrode and Denise Wiggins. Brother of Phyllis DuBoise and the late Linda Teschic, he is also survived by seven grand and 11 greatgrandchildren.
Walter Kelly
Walter “Sonny” Kelly passed away on Thursday, March 28 in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was born in Kearny and moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 2007.
Preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Janet. He is survived by four children Robert, Michael, Susan and Julie Ann; nine grandchildren; Robert, Michael, Joseph, Bryan, Alexis, John, Nicole, Gabrielle and Kyle; and Best Buddy “Jersey” aka “Blackie.”
Family memorial was held in Fort Worth, Texas on April 1. The family requests that friends make a donation to the American Heart Association in memory of Walter.
Josephine B. Luminiello
Josephine B. Luminiello (nee Stankiwicz) died on April 1 in the Gulf Coast Memorial Hospital in Florida. She was 95.
Born in Harrison, she lived many years in Kearny before moving to Florida three years ago.

Elizabeth T. Magher
Miss Elizabeth “Betty” T. Magher, formerly of Kearny, died on Easter Sunday. She was 93.
The funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Betty had been employed for 45 years by the Peoples Security Savings and Loan of Harrison where she served as vice president and manager and also, as a member of the Board of Directors before retiring. She was a past president of the Woman’s Association of Savings and Loan officers of New Jersey.
She was also a member and past president of the Cecilian Seniors of Kearny and later served as a trustee and tour director for the Cecilians. She had been a member of the St. Stephen’s Rosary Society as well.
Betty was predeceased by her parents Robert and Elizabeth Magher; her siblings, Maureen and Robert Magher and her niece and nephew, Patricia and Robert Magher, III. Surviving are her niece Mary Robin Magher and her nephew, Michael Magher.
Rosemarie Maslag
Rosemarie (nee Pacino) Maslag entered into rest on April 2 at The Bristol Manor. She was 70.
Born in Newark, she lived many years in Kearny before moving to North Arlington 12 years ago.

Thomas F. O’Leary died on March 31 at the N.J. Firemen’s home in Booton. He was 77.
Born in Jersey City, he lived many years in North Arlington.

Tom was a retired manager from Verizon in Newark and was a life member of The Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a member of North Arlington Hose Company #1 for 25 years. and is a life member of both the N.J. State Exempts and the Volunteer Fire Association. He served as housing and fire inspector in North Arlington for 10 years and was a member of Queen of Peace Knights of Columbus.
Tom is the husband of the late Eileen (nee Long) and father of the late Tommy O’Leary. He is survived by his daughters and their husbands Sheila and Brian Dick and Sharon and Tim Tucker and his daughter-in-law Cecilia O’Shea. Brother of Joseph and Catherine, he is also survived by his grandchildren Brian, Bridget, Breann, Elizabeth, Patrick and Kelly.

Stephen J. Puzzo
Stephen J. Puzzo died on April 2 in the Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was 69.
Born in Newark, he lived at various Jersey Shore communities before moving to Florida six years ago.

He is survived by his cherished sons Stephen and Philip Puzzo and his daughter Debbie Longo and was the loving brother of Charles Puzzo, Sissy Jeffreys, Anna Arena, Anthony Puzzo, Dee Dee Gerrish and Delores Ezekian. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren Melissa, Anthony, Sonny, Stevie and Kayla.

Linda A. Santiago (nee Mather) entered into eternal life on April 5, after a courageous battle against breast cancer. She was 53.
Born in East Orange, she was a lifelong Kearny resident.

Letitia Craig Wolff
Mrs. Letitia Craig Wolff, 75, died on Monday, March 18, at Carrington Place Nursing Home, Matthews, N.C.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 16 Church Square, Harrison.
Mrs. Wolff was born on August 2, 1937 in Scotland, the daughter of the late Joe and Mary Green. She was a retired inspector with the General Motors Corporation. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wolff was preceded in death by her brothers Joe Green and John Green.
Mrs. Wolff is survived by her husband, Harry Wolff; daughter Mary Jo Green and husband, Grant; and by her sisters Mary Herd and Eileen Green.
