Last week, the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission closed off part of Schuyler Ave. near the Harrison/Kearny border to reline its 42-inch concrete interceptor line between Dukes St. and Hamilton St. The PVSC contracted with Green Mountain Pipeline Services, Inc., of South Royalton, Vt., to do the job. No cost estimate was available at press time. PVSC spokeswoman Hollie Gilroy said: “We are bypassing the main sewer, which means we are pumping around the construction site to ensure all sewage is coming to the [treatment) plant (in Newark) down to Harrison so the new pipe liner can be inserted and then cured in place.”
