Eleanor E. De Vries
Eleanor E. De Vries, 92, of North Arlington, died on Aug. 2.

She was the beloved wife of the late Rommert De Vries Jr., mother of Rommert De Vries (Valerie), sister of the late Ruth Franco and grandmother of James De Vries.

Henrietta M. Donlon
Henrietta M. Donlon (nee Wedra) passed away peacefully, at home, after a courageous battle against ALS. She was 75.
Born in West Wyoming, Pa., she lived many years in Bloomfield before moving to Hamburg two years ago.

Hennie was a customer service manager for American Savings and Loan Association in Bloomfield before retiring. However, her most cherished job was loving and caring for her adoring family.
Wife of Thomas F. Donlon Sr., she is survived by her children and their spouses Kathleen and Rich McGuigan, Karen and Paul Russell, Thomas F. Jr. and Amy Donlon and Kevin and Dana Donlon. She was the sister of Lucille Kruchinsky, Charles Wedra, Patricia Suchocki, Kathleen Mackin and Paula Pitcavage. Also surviving are her grandchildren Hugh, Hayden, Emily, Shannon, Colleen, Erin, Morgan, Brendan, Ryan, Kellen and Ciara.

Eleanor J. Mernar
Eleanor J. Merenar (Rapsis), 72, passed away on July 31.

Mrs. Mernar was born in Jersey City and was raised in Harrison. She lived in Kearny for the last 42 years.
She proudly served as secretary for the Pioneer Boys and Girls Club of America in Kearny and was also a past president and life member of the Kearny 1050 Women’s Club.
Eleanor is survived by her husband Thomas X. Mernar; children Kim Spiniello (Ralph), Thomas Mernar Jr. and Greg Mernar (Donna); siblings Margaret Leifken, and Anne Murray and her grandchildren Mario and Julianne Spiniello and Christopher and Kaliegh Mernar.
She was predeceased by her brother Peter Rapsis and her sister Adele Stenger.
Leocadio I. Morejon
Leocadio I. Morejon, 80, of Kearny, formerly of Harrison, died on Aug. 1 at home.
Arrangements were by the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr., Kearny. A religious service was held, followed by a private cremation.
Mr. Morejon was born in Camaguey, Cuba, and lived in Harrison before moving to Kearny in 1993. He was a warehouseman for Pechter’s Bakery, Harrison, for 24 years, retiring 18 years ago. He was a member of Teamsters Local 194 in Union.
He was the beloved husband of Eugenia Rivero Morejon, father of Idiana Morejon- Murray (Francis) and James Morejon (Jennifer), brother of Gladys Chavez and Migdalia Morejon and grandfather of Meaghan, Brendan and Cody.
Marie P. Moritz
Mrs. Marie P. Moritz (nee Padden), a former Kearny resident, and currently of Jefferson, passed away on Monday, July 29, with her children at her side. She was 88.
The funeral Mass was offered in St. Cecilia’s Church, Kearny. Arrangements were by the Condon Funeral Home, 684 Kearny Ave., Kearny (condonfuneralhome. com). The interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
She had worked for NJ Bell for 42 years, retiring as chief operator in 1988. After that, she was a sales associate at the Lafayette Antiques Mill for 20 years.
Marie was an active club woman for most of her life and had been a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Jefferson Township Seniors and the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. She had been a member and past president of the Kearny High School and Franklin School in Kearny PTA as well as the Jefferson Republican Club. Born in Plains, Pa., she lived in Kearny until moving to Jefferson many years ago.
Mrs. Moritz was predeceased by her husbands, Harold List and Anthony Moritz. She is survived by her children, Thomas List (Dolores), Michael Moritz and Eileen Moritz-Spitler (James) as well as her siblings, Nancy Colvin and Anthony Padden. Also surviving are three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James Charles O’Donnell
James Charles O’Donnell, died peacefully at St. Michael’s Medical Center ICU in Newark on Monday, July 29. He was 88.
James was born on Jan. 10, 1925, in Cumberland, England, to James O’Donnell of Dunloe, Ireland, and Agnes Rodgers of Bathgate, Scotland. The family moved to Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland, in 1931.
During World War II, James served in what was then Burma with the Oxford and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and later the Cumberland Regiment of the British Army.
In 1958 James emigrated to the U.S., joining his older brother, John. Until the early 1980’s, he worked as a machine tool operator for Mc- Kiernan-Terry, Harrison, and other machine manufacturing companies in northern New Jersey. After his retirement he volunteered at Holy Cross Church in Harrison, taking care of the Fatima garden. Prior to that, he was a member of the church’s Holy Name Society. James had a fine tenor singing voice. He loved old movies and was a lifelong ardent supporter of the Glasgow Celtic Football Club.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anne Keavney O’Donnell of Harrison, his sister Denise O’Donnell of South Queensferry, Scotland, his son James, daughter Annette and granddaughter Hanne, all of Harrison. He was predeceased by his daughter, Elaine Agnes O’Donnell and his brother John O’Donnell.
Funeral services were under the direction of the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave, Harrison. A funeral Mass was held at Holy Cross Church in Harrison. Loretta Osowski
Loretta Osowski (nee Cox) entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 30 at St. Joseph’s Hospice Center, Wayne. She was 96.
Born in Jersey City, she lived in Toms River for the last 25 years. Prior to that she lived in Harrison. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church, Harrison.
Predeceased by her husband Edward Alexander Osowski (1989), Loretta is survived by her loving son J.R. Osowski, beloved grandchildren Edward Osowski and his wife Danielle, Danielle Kelly and her husband Jamie and Frederick Osowski. She is also survived by her seven cherished great-grandchildren, and was aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Ronald Osowski, and by three brothers and a sister.

Elizabeth C. Pringle (nee Wylie) passed away at her home on July 29. She was 98.
Born in Kearny, she lived in Toms River before moving to Horseheads N.Y., in 1986.
