George Dargan
George Dargan, 75, died on Sunday, Aug. 2.

Mr. Dargan was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He immigrated to this country in 1964 and lived in Jackson Heights, Queens. He moved to Brooklyn in 1967 and lived there until 1972 before moving to Kearny.
George served in the British Royal Army. He worked as a carpenter at the N.Y.U. Medical Center in New York City for 38 years, retiring in 2001 and was a member of Local 810, International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
St. Stephen’s Church was an important part of George’s life. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, served as an usher, volunteered at the food pantry and was a door monitor for the CCD program. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6928.
Mr. Dargan is survived by his wife Madge T. (McGrath); four daughters Angela C. Waller (Jeff), Maria P. Masino (Phil), Brenda Dargan-Levy (Shirley) and Madge Dargan; one sister Catherine Starrs; grandchildren Ceili and Fiona Waller, Sean and Cara Masino and Eden Liat Dargan-Levy; and his brotherin- law Patrick McGrath.

Wilhelmina S. Gray
Wilhelmina S. Gray (nee Boyd) passed away on Aug. 3. She was 75.
Born in Jersey City, she lived in East Newark before moving to Pocono Lake, Pa., in 1992.

Wife of Ronald L. Gray, she was the mother of Kimberly Goldman (Robert), Michele Year (Jose) and Angela Keena. She was the sister of Margaret (Frank) Messino, Janet (late Paul) MacDonald, Jacqueline (Tony) Scocco, Butch Boyd and the late Elizabeth Haines (Jack), William Boyd, Jean Gray (Richard), Kathleen McGuire (Tom) and Michael Boyd. Also surviving are her grandchildren Keren, Conrad, Rachel, Sarah, Benjamin and Ryan and her great-grandchildren Zachary and Chloe.
John Kirchner
John Kirchner, 62, died suddenly on July 30 at his home in Kearny.

Mr. Kirchner was born in Newark and lived in Kearny for many years.
He worked for the USPS as a letter carrier in Fairview for over 20 years and later worked as a supervisor at Allied Building Products in East Rutherford before his retirement.
John is survived by his daughter Corrine Kirchner; two granddaughters Lilly and Briella; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. “Johnny K” will be deeply missed by many great, great friends.
He was predeceased by his parents John W. and Anna (Kimball) Kirchner.
The New York Giants flag that is flying in front of the funeral home this week is in John’s honor. He was “True Blue.”

Edmond E. ‘Big Cap’ Morris
Edmond E. “Big Cap” Morris, 67, of Newark, formerly of Kearny, died on Aug. 4 at home surrounded by his family.
Arrangements were by the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. A funeral service was held at the funeral home followed by a private cremation.
Mr. Morris was a truck driver with T.J. McDermott, Kearny, for 10 years, retiring three years ago. He served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He also was a bartender at Graham’s Tavern in Kearny. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 105, Belleville.
The beloved husband of Diane Kimball Morris, he is survived by his daughter of Iris Gallagher and her fiancé Robert Britting and his daughter Courtney Centi and her fiancé Steven Taub. He was the brother of Charlene Morris and Patricia Ruesenberg and grandfather of Alex, Andrew, Aiden, Chloe and Robert, Jr. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Michael St. John
Michael St. John, 65, of Talking Rock, Ga., formerly of East Newark, passed away suddenly on July 4. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Church, East Newark, on Aug. 22 at 1:30 p.m.
Michael is survived by his loving companion Tammy Tripp, son Michael (Kris) and their three children of Milford, Pa., daughter Malorie Gibson (Dan) and their three children of Jackson, N.J.; and stepdaughter Deanna Bennett and her two children of Jasper, Ga. He is also survived by his loving family of six sisters, four brothers and several nieces and nephews.
Christine D. (Cioffi) Sullivan
Christine D. (Cioffi) Sullivan, 51, of Kearny, passed away suddenly on Monday Aug. 3.

Born in Newark, Christine had been a lifelong resident of Kearny. She worked as CFO/ Controller of the Essex County Country Club for over 30 years and continuously proved her ability to manage of one of New Jersey’s premier golf clubs with a diverse and outstanding membership.
Beloved wife and “forever friend” of 35 years to Kevin Sullivan, she was the cherished and adored mother to Karissa and Andrew Sullivan. Loving daughter to Josephine (Beatrice) Cioffi and the late Dante M. Sr., she was the dear sister to Theresa Gido and her husband John, Dante Cioffi Jr. and his wife Mary Lynn, brother-in-law, Richard Sullivan and his wife Liz and Michael Sullivan and his wife Kathie. She was a dear niece to Vincent Franco and Sabino Beatrice and Maria Visco, Christine is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and also her beloved fur babies Snoopy, Coco, Jane and Rocky.
