Nutley police have finally learned who the mystery headstone with the name Max Ferreira, age 8, belonged to. And you’re probably not going to believe this, though it’s actually 100% true.
Eight-year-old Max Ferreira was born June 16, 1990 and died Sept. 29, 1998, after living a good life as .. a Rottweiler, Detective Sgt. Anthony Montanari, of the NPD said today in a news release.
The stone was found a few weeks ago on the Nutley NJ Transit bus depot property, but the mystery as to how it got there still abounds.
Montanari said the pup once belonged to former Newark resident Agostina Ferreira, but Mr. Ferreira, who moved to Florida in 2004, died a year later.
