LYNDHURST –
Two men were arrested last week on drug charges after their car was stopped for a motor vehicle infraction, Lyndhurst police said.
Det. Capt. John Valente identified the pair as Charles Huebner, 44, of Rutherford, and Dominic Damiani, 37, of Lyndhurst.
Valente said Officer Nicholas Abruscato was on patrol Monday, Oct. 12, at 12:09 p.m. when he noticed a van traveling east on Kingsland Ave. with an expired inspection sticker.
After stopping the vehicle on Kingsland near Willow Ave., the officer learned that the van was also unregistered, Valente said.
Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of both the driver, Huebner, and his passenger, Damiani, he said.
Both Huebner and Damiani were charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia (a glass cylinder known to be used in smoking crack cocaine).
Huebner was also charged with possession of one methadone pill and Damiani was additionally charged with possession of a hypodermic needle.
Both were transported to the Bergen County Jail, each on bail of $10,000 full cash.
