Lawrence Angelo
Lawrence “Larry” Angelo passed away on Dec. 8. He was 82.
Born in Newark, he lived in Kearny before moving to Lanoka Harbor six years ago.
Arrangements were by the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. A funeral Mass was held Friday, Dec. 12, at St. Lucy’s Church in Newark followed by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Mr. Angelo was retired from his job as head custodian at the Newark Board of Education.
He was married to the late Ann (nee DeFuria) and is survived by his children and their spouses Nora Campagna- Large (Ray), Karen DeAngelo, Sandra Leonardis (Robert) and Larry Angelo (Joan). He is also survived by two former sonsin- law, Anthony Campagna Sr. and Emil DeAngelo, along with his grandchildren Anthony, Vincent, Nicole, Dina, Dana, Emilio, Larry and Sal.

John Berry
John Berry, 62, of Kearny passed away on Dec. 3.
He was devoted to Christine Reina. Loving father of Nicholas and Daniel Berry and stepson Michael Reina, he is also survived by his mother-in-law Diane Boldezar, her daughter Diane Kuiken and his nephews Brian and Brett Kuiken.
He was a graduate of Montclair University and a master plumber. He was born in Paterson on May 15, 1953.
John was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 105 in Belleville. John was also a member of the Harrison/ East Newark Elks and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Kearny Aerie, 2214, where he held the post of inner guard. John enjoyed his children’s sports. He was also a Mets and Giants fan, loved to read and watch old movies, fishing and boats, the Jersey shore, especially Manasquan and his cat Max.
A service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 2:30 p.m. at the Eagles Aerie, 164 Midland Ave., Kearny.
Marie C. Clifford Marie C. Clifford, 75, of North Arlington, died on Dec. 7.
Arrangements were by the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. A Mass of Christian burial was offered at Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Clifford was a lifelong resident of North Arlington. She was an administrative assistant with Penguin Putnam Publishing Group, East Rutherford for 10 years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Martin J. Clifford; mother of Michael (Karen) Clifford, Tara Clifford and Robyn (Stephen) Fisher; sister of the late William and her twin Robert Riecke; and grandmother of Robert, Michael, Colin, Ryan, Brian, Bailey and Reese.

Janina Kowalczuk
Janina Kowalczuk, of Garwood, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Nov. 30, at Morristown Medical Center. She was 72.
The funeral was conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Harrison. A funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Harrison, followed by internment in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. For information, directions or to send condolences to the family, please visit www.mulliganfh.com.
Born in Turosl, Poland, Janina lived in Harrison, before moving to Garwood in 1966. She was a homemaker who loved spending her free time with her family and grandchildren.
Janina was the beloved wife of Walenty for 52 years, devoted mother of Zbignew Kowalczuk and Jolanta Humphreys, dear sister of Helena Czyzewska and cherished grandmother of four. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her two brothers and a sister.
Wilbert Murray
Wilbert (Bob) Murray, of Kearny, died on Thursday, Dec. 10, at home. He was 87.
The funeral Mass was offered on Monday, Dec. 14, in St. Cecilia’s Church, Kearny. A private cremation followed. Visiting was held at the Condon Funeral Home 684 Kearny Ave., Kearny, (condonfuneralhome.com) on Sunday, Dec. 13.
Bob had been a machinist for Otis Elevator in Harrison for 32 years until retiring. He had served in the Army during World War II, attaining the rank of sergeant.
He was predeceased by his wife, Irene (nee Fadeski) and is survived by his children Robert Murray (Josephine), Loretta O’Neill and Irene Brooks (Kenneth). Also surviving are his grandchildren Daniel, Stacy, Robert II, Sean, Marguerita, Alexandra and Samantha.
