Brian ‘BJ’ Gleason
Brian “BJ” Gleason, formerly of Kearny, died suddenly in Seoul, South Korea, on March 15. He was 54.
He was the son of Mary (nee Mulraney) and the late Edmund R. Gleason.
The husband of Hyunmi Im, he was also the brother of Ann Dowie, Katie Dwiatek, Thomas Gleason, Peter Gleason and the late Edmund R. Gleason.
A memorial service will be planned in about a month. A complete obituary will be published several days in advance of that service.

Vera Ann Pace Schwamberger
Vera Ann Pace Schwamberger was born and entered gently into rest on March 12.
She is survived by her parents, Brian Schwamberger and Starlette Pace, and her grandparents, John and Marion Schwamberger, Dawn Burke and Myrna and Benjamin Pace.
She was laid to rest next to her sister, Ava, in a private ceremony in the Holy Innocence Crypt at Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington.

Barbara Pryblick
Barbara Pryblick (nee Konesky), 85, passed away on Monday, March 14.
Mrs. Pryblick was born and raised in Scranton, Pa., and lived in North Arlington for the last 66 years.
She owned and operated Joe’s Liquor and Deli in Lyndhurst with her late husband Milton “Metty” for 30 years, retiring 20 years ago.
Barbara is survived by her son, Kevin Pryblick; a son-in-law, Frank Augustine; four grandchildren, Katierose Augustine, JR Augustine, Dana Kornas (Brian) and Cara Calfayan (Chris); and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Emily Kornas.
She was predeceased by her husband, Milton Przebieglec, and her daughter, Karen Augustine.
Private arrangements are under the direction of the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, Kearny.

Paul Marks
Paul Marks died suddenly at home on March 16.
He was 47.
He lived most of his life in Kearny and then Bayonne before moving to Cedar Grove.
Paul was a flight instructor for Flight Safety International, Moonachie.
Son of the late Roberts Marks and Mary (nee Doherty) Padovano, he is survived by his loving wife Cathy (nee Luppino) Marks and his cherished son Jon Paul Marks. He is also survived by his brothers and their wives, Ray and Barbara Marks, Stephen and Gayle Marks; his brother-in-law and wife Joe and Kim Luppino; and step-sister and her husband Gina and Dave Basso.
He was also the stepson of John Padovano and uncle to Heather, Kristen, Nicole and Padraig.
Visiting will be Tuesday, March 22, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Mass is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny, and private cremation follows.

Obdulia ‘Dee’ Fernandez
Obdulia “Dee” Fernandez, 83, of Livingston, died March 17.
Born in Spain, Mrs. Fernandez lived in Newark and Kearny before moving to Livingston in 1986.
She was an administrative assistant at Grotto Law Firm in Livingston for many years. Prior to that, she worked at Sherwin Williams and Congoleum, Kearny, in the same capacity.
She was the beloved wife of 65 years of Arturo Fernandez. Mother of Anita Durso and her husband Clayton Seda, she was grandmother of Kyle M. Durso, sister of the late Joseph Guerrero and his wife Margaret, sister-in-law of Concha Fernandez and her husband the late Enrique. She was also the aunt of Aurora Fernandez.
Visiting was at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny. Entombment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
