Carmen Arevalo
Carmen Arevalo, of Kearny, died March 8.
She was 90.
Visiting was at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Mass was Saturday at Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington. Entombment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Carmen enjoyed her time with Club Espana.
Wife of the late Jaime Arevalo, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carmen and Charlie Leone, her sister Manuela Riadigos and granddaughters Diana and Cristina. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Antonio Pereira
Antonio Pereira died March 7.
He was 80.
Born in Portugal, he lived in Newark before moving to North Arlington 10 years ago. Visiting was at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, Kearny. A service took place from the funeral home. Entombment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Antonio is survived by his wife Rebeca, son Tony and sisters Maria and Celeste.
William Todd
William Todd, of Holmdel, died surrounded by his devoted family at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, on March 4.
He was 79.
Born and raised in Kearny, he moved to Holmdel to raise his family, where he lived for 45 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elaine Foscato Todd; his daughters, Sandra Collins, Christine Salsano and Gary Kenthack; and his sons, Steven and Jeffery and his wife Gina. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas, Donald and Gary; and two sisters, Mary Walsh and Judith Platt.
He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
William worked for Roofers Local No. 4 for 30 years before retiring 17 years ago. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and summers at his lake house.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Mary Mother of God Church, Middletown. Laurel Funeral Home, Keansburg, was in charge.

Josefina Rego de Millet
Josefina Rego de Millet died March 9.
She was six days shy of her 107th birthday.
Visiting was Sunday, March 12, at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, Kearny. Entombment will be in Spain.
Josefina was the wife of the late Antonio Millet. She was the mother of Manuel Millet, Jose Millet, Elvira Parada and the late Antonio Millet. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Irene M. Suvajac
Irene M. Suvajac, of Kearny, (nee Przebieglec) died March 10.
She was 73.
Visiting was at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, Kearny. Cremation was private.
Irene was the wife of the late Milos and is survived by her children Michele Gizzi (John), Michael Suvajac and John Suvajac (Adria). Also surviving are her grandchildren Nicholas and Madison.

Terence ‘Terry’ Gilmore
Terence “Terry” Gilmore of Kearny, died Sunday, March 12, at Englewood Medical Center after a short illness.
He was 70.
The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave., Harrison, on Friday, March 17, at 10:15 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church, Harrison, at 11 a.m. Friends may call on Thursday, March 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday after 9:30 a.m. Cremation will be private. Born in Newark, Terry was raised along with his five siblings in Harrison before moving to Kearny 40 years ago. He graduated from Montclair State College in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree. He was a retired Battalion Chief for the Harrison Fire Department, where he worked for many years, retiring in 2010.
During that time, he was also a gym teacher on his days off for East Newark School. Prior to that, he worked for Western Electric, Newark, for five years in the computer department.
Terry was very involved in his community and over the years, volunteered his time as a coach for the Harrison Little League as well as being a high school football referee throughout Hudson, Essex and Union counties.
He also served on the board of the Harrison Police and Fireman’s Federal Credit Union in Harrison, and was a member of the Irish American Club of Kearny and the Harrison East Newark Elks, BPOE 2326.
He also volunteered with Holy Cross Church and the Harrison Seniors Center. He was well liked by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith (nee Cifelli) of 46 years, loving children, Sharon Tortorello (late Michael), Donna O’Donnell (Michael), Debbie Gilmore, Christina Nidowicz (Joseph) and Michael (Yolanda). He’s also survived by dear siblings Eugene Gilmore (Maureen) and Sharon Catrambone (late Ronald), cherished grandchildren, Christina, Briana, Amber, Michael and Haley O’Donnell, Michael, Alexa and Gina Tortorello, Avery and Rylie Garing, Michael, Keira and Haleyne Gilmore, Michelle Predi and JoJo Nidowicz and his sister-in-law, Anita Gilmore. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by parents John and Marie Gilmore (nee Noon), his brothers, Kevin and John, sister Kathleen Russell (Eddie), son-in-law, Michael Tortorello, and brother-in-law Ronald Catrambone.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Lung Association, in care of the funeral home, in loving memory of Terry.
