Effective immediately, the Nutley Police Department will take police reports over the telephone for certain types of non-emergency calls. This will be used in the wake of the COVID-19 virus and will continue until further notice. The types of calls officers will take over the telephone are those that do not require an on-scene investigation. Residents meeting the criteria set by the Nutley PD will be guided through the process.
Officers will continue to respond to emergency calls as necessary.
