Russell Murray
Russell Murray died May 7, 2020.
He was 87.
Born in Jersey City, he lived most of his life in Kearny.
Private arrangements are by the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum in North Arlington.
Russell served in the Army during the Korean War. He retired as chief municipal finance officer for the Town of Kearny. Very involved with the Elks, he was past exalted ruler. He enjoyed his involvement with the Admiral Bowling Team and the Kearny Republican Party.
Beloved husband of the late Anne (Rapsis) he was the loving father of Tracey Tagliente and Russell K. Murray. Brother of Jean Triano, he is also survived by his grandson Russell James Murray.

Ellen McDermott
Ellen McDermott, (nee Leonard), 90, died Friday, June 5, 2020 at Alaris at Belgrove, Kearny.
Born in Kearny, Mrs. McDermott was a life-long resident.
Ellen was a secretary at RCA in Harrison for many years before retiring.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas F. McDermott, a captain in the Kearny Fire Department and Gerald M. McDermott and his wife, Jean; a sister, Marie Elbert and two brothers, Thomas and Frank Leonard. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Michael, Erin, Michael and Jamie.
Mrs. McDermott was predeceased by her husband, Gerald McDermott.
Funeral arrangements and interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, are private.
Donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Ellen’s name would be greatly appreciated.
