Frank’s impact on us all is genuine and long-lasting.

No child could have hoped for a better father. He drove to every cheerleading competition and attended every play, concert and sports event that involved his children. As a teacher, Frank had a profound impact on his students, evidenced in the many letters he received and cherished over the years. Frank was passionate about history, art, literature and music.

He shared his interests with his family included many trips to concerts, museums and plays in Manhattan.   Annual vacations in LBI or the Catskill Mountains were the highlight of the year for Frank and his family.

He was the most patient, loving and gentle father.

Frank and Carol married at the age of 20 and had four children by the age of 27. Without fail, Frank put his family first, working two jobs for the better part of his life, all while being a great dad and active in his community.

Life was not always easy for Frank, having lost both of his sons, Michael and Frankie. With faith, and grace, Frank rose above his losses, allowing treasured memories to outweigh his sorrow.  Frank’s home was quiet, calm and filled with laughter and love, always.

Alison Hakim

If you are reading this, it means that I have passed away from old age at 94 years-old.

I met my life-long partner, E. Robert Hakim, in London during WWII and after coming to America at 20 years old. I was made to feel at home by my husband’s family. In Kearny, we raised four wonderful children: Christine, Robert, Barbara and Thomas.

We enjoyed many trips to Belmar and Seneca Lake and so many picnics. We had such nice dogs along the way too, Skippy, Bo-Bo, Barney, Shamrock and Willie.

From my mother, I learned a passion for English gardening, as well as my love for birds and all nature, which totally engaged me and gave me joy my entire life. I was blessed with good health, being able to pick my own weeds until I was 90.

My husband, who passed away nine years before me, and I were lucky enough to travel a fair amount in our retirement years. I knew the joy of having grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a good daughter-in-law and sons-in-law as well.

Yes, I had my fair share of trials and tribulations along the way, but it all balanced out.

It was all good for me; I was a lucky woman. For this I thank the Creator of all things.
