Rosemary Le Van

Rosemary Le Van (nee Manjkow), 53, of Kearny, died suddenly June 29, 2020.

Rose is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, William; her sister, Marie Ginenthal; and brothers Wally and Joseph Manjkow. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Simon and Werner.

Rose loved all animals and will be deeply missed by her five cats: Maxwell, Dennis, Pebbles, Scarlett and Arlie.

Rose earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Montclair State College and was a substitute teacher in the Kearny School District.  She volunteered with the Homeless Animal Adoption League (H.A.A.L.) in Clifton, and was the Vice-President of the Henrietta Benstead Senior Center in Kearny.

Rose will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving wife, always willing to lend a hand, and ever kind and gentle. She greatly enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking and collecting cookbooks.

Funeral services were private at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, Kearny, but a celebration of her life will take place in the future.  In lieu of flowers, kindly consider supporting H.A.A.L. or your local animal shelter.

Charles F. Riedel

Charles F. Riedel of Kearny died June 29, 2020.

He was 67.

Private arrangements were entrusted to the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny.

Born in Bayonne, Charles lived in Kearny since 1976. He worked at Rick’s Auto Body in North Arlington for 35 years. Charles loved tending to his garden, and was a world-class baker.

The dear son of Elizabeth Riedel and the late Howard Riedel, Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife Diane. He was the loving father of Layla Riedel and her husband Kevin Rivera, and Casey Riedel and his wife Christie; cherished grandfather of Everly, and dear brother of Karen Craig and Cindy Riedel, he is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews, and by his adoring cat, Smokey.

Margaret Ann Robertson

Margaret Ann Robertson (nee Burns) died at home July 2, 2020.

She was 89.

Born in Jersey City, she was a lifelong Kearny resident.

Private family arrangements were by the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, Kearny. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery in Kearny.

Mrs. Robertson is survived by her husband Thomas, her children Margo Vanderleeuw and Andrew Robertson, her brothers James and Peter Burns, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Fanny Baquerizo

Fanny Baquerizo died July 2, 2020.

She was 102.

Private family services are with the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, Kearny.

Fanny was the wife of the late Sebastian and mother of Bella Collazo and the late Holger Rosado. Sister of Josephine Mahoney and Sarah Cordoba, she is also survived by eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
