Geraldine C. Egner

Geraldine C. Egner (nee Westlake) of Harrison died peacefully at home Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

She was 73.

Funeral services were under the direction of the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave., Harrison. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Cross Church, Harrison. Her entombment took place in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.

Born in Jersey City, Geraldine lived in Harrison for most of her life after briefly living in Kearny. She was a factory worker for Wilkata Folding Box Co., Kearny, for 26 years, retiring in 2009. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church, Harrison.

In her free time, Geraldine loved to read and watch her favorite cooking shows. She loved crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

Geraldine is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, William; loving daughters Carol and her husband James Fitzmaurice, Patricia and her husband Nelson DaSilva; cherished grandchildren Jessica DaSilva, Sara DaSilva, Katelyn Fitzmaurice and Zachary DaSilva; and a great-grandson, Jackson Santos. Also surviving are her sisters, Kathleen and her husband Dave Duffy and Constance Green. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123 or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005 Boston, Mass. 02241-7005 in loving memory of Geraldine.

James F. Battalino

James F. Battalino, 82, of Harrison, died July 13, 2020.

Family visiting took place at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, Kearny. Mass was celebrated at  Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Harrison. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

James was a retired business manager for the Harrison Board of Education.

He is survived by his sister Annette (Jim) Marion and two nephews Jimmy and Peter Marion.

Anne B. Armitt

Anne B. Armitt (nee Mulraney) died July 15., 2020.

She was 92.

Born in Coatbridge, Scotland, she immigrated to America in 1951 and called Kearny her home.

Private arrangements were by the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny.

Anne was a waitress at Tops Diner for many years.

The wife of the late Bernard Tierney and John Armitt, she was the mother of Margaret Orlowicz (John), Robert Tierney (Toni), John Tierney (Carol), Michael Tierney (Merie), Ann Girdwood (Victor) and the late James Tierney (surviving her also is her daughter-in-law Donna.) Sister of David Mulraney, Mary Gleason and the late James Mulraney, she is also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
