One of the unfortunate COVID-19 casualties last summer was National Night Out, but it makes its return to Kearny Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Belgrove Drive between Afton Street and Bergen Avenue.
Sgt. Adriano Marques, commander of the Kearny PD’s Community Oriented Policing Unit, says the KPD will square off against the Kearny Fire Department in a friendly game of softball. Other members of both departments, not playing in the game, will also be on hand, as will members of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office and the Kearny PBA.
The New Jersey State Police’s chopper will also make an appearance.
Balloons and ice cream will be available for the kids and a DJ will play music throughout the night.
Belgrove Drive will be closed in the area during the festivities and vehicular traffic will be diverted elsewhere.
