The body of a deceased man was pulled from the Passaic River in Kearny yesterday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said this morning,
According to Suarez, on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at approximately 6:19 p.m., the Kearny Police Department received a 911 call reporting a man was found floating in the Passaic River in the area of Passaic Avenue and the Belleville Turnpike. The Kearny PD and the Kearny Fire Department arrived at the scene and confirmed the lifeless body of a man had been recovered. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has not yet been identified. The cause and manner of death of are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Kearny Police Department are actively investigating the case.
