Kevin T. Raftery
Kevin T. Raftery of Kearny died May 8, 2022.
He was 48.
Visiting was at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, Kearny. Mass was celebrated at Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington. Cremation was private.
Kevin was an operating engineer with Local 68, most recently working for Penguin Engineering in Jersey City. He was a member of the Tom Giblin Association, the North Arlington Elks, the Scots-American Club in Kearny and the Ironbound Irish.
Kevin was the beloved son of Bridget (née Durkin) and the late Francis P. Raftery. The loving father of Kathryn, Liam and Aidan, he was the cherished brother of Brian Raftery and his wife, Jean; dear uncle of Kelly and Sean and beloved nephew of Bill Raftery, Jimmy Durcan, Maureen Strahley, Margaret Colleran, Peter Durcan and the late Sister Francis “Rita” Raftery.

Mary ‘Moira’ Hale
Mary “Moira” Hale, 88, died Thursday, May 12, 2022, at home in Winter Springs, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Mary is survived by cherished daughters Elizabeth, Patricia (William) Terrill, and grandson Ryan Hale. Mary was predeceased by Joseph, her beloved husband of 65 years, son Stephen, parents John and Mary Sloan, brother John Sloan.
Mary was born in Jersey City and raised in Kearny. She was employed by Driver-Harris, Harrison, until she married Joe, her Kearny High School sweetheart. Mary spent many years as a homemaker and devoted mother raising her beautiful children.
She and her husband moved to Florida in 1985. She was employed and retired from ASCO Power Technologies in Florida. Mary was an active member of the St Stephen’s Catholic Community. She was an accomplished seamstress. Her family was her life and celebrated their accomplishments. She was always ready for a family celebration at home, the beach or wherever everyone was together. Slainte Mom! Enjoy the family reunion in Heaven and stop laughing as you keep watch over us.
An 11 a.m. Catholic graveside service is scheduled for Friday, May 20, 2022 at the Hale family plot in Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, North Arlington
Family and friends are welcome to meet at 10:30 a.m. at Condon Funeral Home, 684 Kearny Avenue, Kearny to join our funeral cortege.
