DEVELOPING — Kearny could have its first new mayor since 2000, report says

The New Jersey Globe reports Kearny Mayor Alberto G. Santos is in the running for a judgeship and if he gets it, it would mean Kearny has its first new mayor since 2000. For whatever the reason, Santos was unable — understandably — to comment on the Globe’s report. Councilwoman Carol Jean Doyle would be the obvious choice to follow Santos, but she also told The Observer today should couldn’t comment either. Watch The Observer’s report on this developing story below:
