The New Jersey Globe reports Kearny Mayor Alberto G. Santos is in the running for a judgeship and if he gets it, it would mean Kearny has its first new mayor since 2000. For whatever the reason, Santos was unable — understandably — to comment on the Globe’s report. Councilwoman Carol Jean Doyle would be the obvious choice to follow Santos, but she also told The Observer today should couldn’t comment either.
