The Queen of Peace Knights of Columbus sponsor a benefit BBQ for the renowned Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital Tuesday, July 9, at 6 p.m. at Columbian Club Hall, 194 River Road, North Arlington. All are welcome to enjoy a BBQ of hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, sausage, lemon-peppered chicken, potato and macaroni salad, corn-on-the-cob and refreshments for only $25 for adults and $15 for kids (aged 6 to 11) — all for a good cause. Reservations must be made by Friday, July 5, by calling (201) 988-0183. The Knights ask those attending to consider donating a non-expired, non-perishable canned good for its Food for Families project.

Kevin A. Canessa Jr. is the editor of and broadcaster at The Observer, an organization he has served since 2006. He is responsible for the editorial content of the newspaper and website, the production of the e-Newspaper, writing several stories per week (including the weekly editorial), conducting live broadcasts on social media channels such as YouTube, Facebook, and X, including a weekly recap of the news — and much more behind the scenes. Between 2006 and 2008, he introduced the newspaper to its first-ever blog — which included podcasts, audio and video. Originally from Jersey City, Kevin lived in Kearny until 2004, lived in Port St. Lucie.
